Mukundalal’s death anniversary tomorrow
DHAKA, Oct 12, 2018 (BSS) – The 39th death anniversary of Mukundalal Sarker, an anti-British campaign veteran, will be observed tomorrow, a press release said.
To mark the day, special prayers will be offered for the salvation of his departed soul and a discussion on his life will be held in the evening tomorrow at his younger son journalist Ajit Kumar Sarkar’s Dhanmondi residence, the release added.
Sarker was born in 1909 at Dharmaryer Bari Village under Muksedpur Upazila of Gopalgonj district.
He was imprisoned several times during Pakistan regime when he was a prominent figure in the movement against Zamindar system. He also played role in mobilizing the Bangladesh liberation war in 1971.
