E-trafficking prosecution system launched in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Oct 12, 2018 (BSS) – Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) has launched its digitised e-trafficking prosecution programme in the metropolitan city to enable the traffic rules violators in depositing their money of penalty in a hassle-free manner.

RpMP Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bangladesh Police for Rangpur Range Devdas Bhattacharya jointly introduced the system by releasing balloons on Thursday at a function held in Medical Mour area in the city.

Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters) of RpMP Mahidul Islam, its Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Abu Mottakin Minan, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Shahidullah Kawser, Assistant Police Commissioner Imrul Kayes and Inspector (Traffic) Delwar Hossain attended the function.

Alim said the traffic rules violators would be able to deposit their money of penalty through U-cash easily utilising the new system at 11 points and booths in the city in a completely hassle-free manner.

The newly launched system will contribute a lot to oblige the drivers in abiding by the traffic rules on the roads and highways, he said.

“The RpMP launched the modern system in only 25 days since its inception,” Alim said, adding that the new system would reduce the service receivers’ sufferings and save their times.

DIG Devdas said launching of the e-trafficking prosecution system would definitely bring more order in the overall traffic management and inspire the drivers to abide by the traffic rules in the metropolitan city.

“We will soon launch e-trafficking prosecution system in all eight districts under Rangpur Range to ensure transparency in the traffic policing activities, force the drivers to drive vehicles keeping necessary documents and reduce road accidents,” he added.
